My Fair Hat Ladies, September was a month of hurricanes and floods!  I pray that each of you were safe from Ivan.  Although, there was only a small group @ The Penn Wells, those of us who were there were treated to a wonderful talk by Liz Tews of The Blue Thistle.  She was looking smashing in her beautiful hat & outfit.  Her trunk show of hats was not wasted on our group.  They were gorgeous!  If you go in her shop, please mention that you are a Hat Lady and she will give you a discount.
Please check out our website, www.hatladieslycoming.org. For pictures with everyone looking patriotic in their red, white and blue.   We collected a lot of items for Haven of Tioga County and sent them a check for $50.  They were delighted.  Haven would like to know if you would be interested in sponsoring a family for Christmas?
Can you believe that it is almost October and our spectacular fall is on it's way?  Halloween is a great time for wearing those fun hats.  Recently, my 4 yr. old granddaughter tried on one of my black designer hats that has feathers and sequins on it.  She wanted to know if it was my Halloween hat.
OCTOBER 9TH Meet & Eat:  1200 noon @ The Ross Club located  201 W. Fourth St. in Williamsport.  Lunch will consist of Grilled Raspberry chicken salad on a bed of mixed greens, rolls & butter, tea (hot or iced) or coffee and chief's choice of dessert for $10.50 (inclusive).  Please bring the correct change.
You will only be able to enter the Club through the FRONT door.  You may park in the parking garage on the bottom deck for free.  (Enter on Williams Street) or on the street (meters are not monitored on Saturday.)
Our speaker will be author, Marie Prato.  Some of you met her @ Jeremiah's.  Quite a delightful lady!
Reservations: must be made by Tuesday, October 5th.
Please remember that you may make reservations by email or telephone, but cancellations should be done by telephoning me @ 570-546-2012.  If I do not respond within 24 hr. of your sending email, please resubmit.  Thank you.
Reminder: If we get charged for your lunch & you did not cancel, if we have to pay, we will pass the bill on to you.
A TIP OF THE HAT TO: All of you who donated items & HATpy dollars to Haven of Tioga County.
Hats Off: To Lil Van Campen who delivered the items to Haven.  It took her an hour to find Haven but like a true Hat Lady, she was persistent.  I appreciate the effort that she went to deliver the goods.
