Fair Hat Ladies, October has ushered in our wonderful fall weather and the
countryside is ablaze with beautiful foliage. We had a wonderful lunch at The
Ross Club and everyone enjoyed Marie Prato immensely.

South Carolina enjoying beach weather and staying busy making arrangements for
our Charleston trip in March. Archie and I have lots of great things planned.

take a picture of everyone at the luncheon.

have lunch in a gorgeous setting; Dinner @ S.N.O.B. (Slightly North of Broad)
one of Charleston's quaint places to dine.
Friday: Harbor cruise (daytime); Lunch @ Magnolia's; A wonderful Gullah tour
that is highlighted by taking you to the home & studio of Phillip Simmons, a
national treasure and one of the foremost makers of iron gates which are seen
all around Charleston. It will include a trip to The Citadel (The Military
College of S.C. which has a unique campus) to watch a dress parade, and end @
Chuma's for Grace's Hat Show. You will love Alfonso, our guide, who will charm
you with Gullah tales of the low country. We will end the evening by dining at
Rue De Jean's, one of the local favorites.
Saturday will bring lots of time to shop in the morning or visit The Old Market
or sightsee in the morning. The Hat Ladies Luncheon @ the Francis Marion Hotel
will start at 1130 am. Afterwards, you can go see The Old Citadel on the Green,
Aiken- Rhett House, walk through Ansonborough and tour old houses or walk down
King Street and shop along the way.
For dinner we will put on our casual clothes and chill out @ either Tommy
Condon's or Garibaldi's. After dinner, you might want to go to the theater,
symphony or take the Ghost Tour. That information will be available prior to
the trip so that you can make reservations.
On Sunday, after church, enjoy Southern cuisine @ Justene's Kitchen (remember
last year?). Try collards or southern fried chicken, gumbo or grits. In the
afternoon, there are many mansions you may tour or shops to visit. At 4pm, we
will head to Folly Beach for appetizers @ Anne's condo. Walk on the beach of
just look around the quaint little community or just plain relax and watch the
ocean from our balcony. We will dine @ Folly Pier @ 630pm, then head back to
the hotel after dinner on the Folly Trolley. Charleston is surrounded by the
most beautiful beaches in the world. This is your chance to see what they are
like.
