The Hat Ladies of Lycoming County

December - January Newsletter

My Fair Hat Ladies, First, Cindy and I thank each of you for your prayers, your cards, phone calls, the beautiful flowers that stood front and center and coming to my husband’s Memorial Service.  It was such a shock to our family and indeed unexpected.  Jack loved The Hat Ladies and would have loved seeing all of the hats in our church at his services, both in Muncy and in Charleston.  I found a prayer on his computer that I would like to share with all of you.

“In the battle as we go through life

We ask for a field that is fair.

A chance to do it or dare.

If we should win, let it be by the code;

With our faith and honor held high.

If we should lose, let us stand by the the road

And let the Champions go by."

This is called the Prayer of Champions.  He lived by that code and was a champion as are all of you.

November Meet & Eat:

I heard that Valley View was beyond excellent!  Many thanks to Louise Eakin and her staff who prepared and served such scrumptious food; to Jane Miller for playing the piano; & Joyce Fairfax for taking care of the name tags; Debbie Thomas for taking the pictures and sending them to me and my son.  It is so nice to know that everything is running so smoothly without me.  Hats off to all of you.

JANUARY MEET & EAT

The January 14th Meet & Eat will be a Buffet at The Genetti Hotel.  $10 (all inclusive).  Pay at the door and get a ticket as usual.  Reservations must be in by Wednesday, January 11th by calling me @ 570-546-2012 or email @ puttinonthehatz@aol.com.  I remind you that if we do not have enough ladies, they will give us a limited menu to order from.  Once again, we will have our annual SOUPER BOWL for the homeless in Williamsport.  It has already been a very cold winter, so imagine what it would be like if you were without shelter.  Please bring only DRY PACKAGED SOUP.
BLACK HAT:  Our sympathy goes out to Debbie Thomas who just lost her Mother.  You can

send her a card at 89 Larson Rd, Muncy, Pa. 17756

MARCH CHARLESTON TRIP:  I originally cancelled this trip, but if there are ladies who would like to go, Archie Burkel, Top Hat, would love to entertain you.  We can make it hatpen!

HOT HAT HATPENINGS

I want to take this time to wish all of you a blessed Christmas filled with love & family & friends.  It is a time to reflect on our blessings and to shed the light to others that He has filled you with.  Find someone in our community who has not been as fortunate as you have and give some time or a gift to that person.  Help them feel like Christmas is a blessing.  You will receive the greatest gift of all, the joy of giving to others.  Live each day as it is a precious gift that you have received, because it certainly is that.

SAVE THESE DATES!

FEBRUARY 11th: GENETTI HOTEL WITH CINDY KOONS & HER FABULOUS HAT ENHANCERS (like the one Carmilla wore when she wed Prince Charles).

Don’t forget to wear your hats when you are out and about and remember you can bring guests to our luncheons.  The more hats, the merrier.  I can not end 2005 without telling you how much your friendship has meant to me.  I have met the nicest and best ladies in our area.  You are beyond classy!  I am so glad that our paths have crossed and that I am blessed to be able to call you my friends.  I am home now and will stay here even though the weather has been uncooperative!  I haven’t worn a winter coat for the past 6 years.   If you are in Muncy or near the Mall, please call or drop by to see me…hat ladies always welcome and tea or coffee is always on!

HATFULLY & LOVINGLY,

  ANNE
