My Fair Hat Ladies, December was a wonderful
month of giving and celebrating with our love ones. 2005 is here! Hatpy New Year
to each and every one of you. And what a year it is going to be. Put your hat on
and get ready for a year of fun & good times & meeting new Hat Ladies. We are
the crème de la crème! (as my Mother-in Love would say.)
January 8TH Meet & Eat:
1200 noon @ The Genetti Hotel in Williamsport. It will be a buffet. Cost is
$10.00 (which includes tax & tip). I am late getting this out, so please get
your reservations in ASAP. Doors will open @ 11:30 so you can look at and
purchase hats from ValKnitz-Exclusive. Val Merrill will be our guest speaker.
There will also be time after lunch to purchase her beautiful hats.
SOUPER BOWL: Please bring packaged soup for the homeless. DO NOT BRING CANS.
Only dehydrated soups that water can be added to.
Reservations: must be made by Wednesday, January the 5th.
Please remember that you may make reservations by email or telephone, but
cancellations should be done by telephoning me @ 570-546-2012 or 570-974-1020.
If I do not respond within 24 hrs of your sending email, please resubmit. Thank
you.
Reminder: Please pay for your lunch at the front desk as you enter and receive a
ticket. Put the ticket by your seat and the waitress will collect them. Please
make note if someone has their ticket or purse placed at a seat, please find
another one. Also if you notice that chairs are turned up, that seat has already
been taken. This will avoid a lot of confusion.
A TIP OF THE HAT TO all of you for the lovely
card and beautiful candy hat tree. It has graced my dining room table all
through the holidays for all to admire. Many thanks to all of you.
UNDER THE HAT: Make sure you pick up a copy of
Creative Living Magazine. You will see a picture of Archie Burkel, our founder,
and an article about The Hat Ladies.
REMINDER: If you joined in November, December
and January are due now. To pay dues, send a check made out to The Hat Ladies to
Louise Eakin, Treasurer @738 Brick Church Rd, Montgomery, Pa. 17752. Dues are
$20 if you have email and $25 if you do not. You must also submit 12 self stick,
self addressed, stamped business envelopes to me. If you pay at the luncheon,
please put your dues in a sealed envelope with your name and amount that you
paid. I can not accept dues any other way, as it presents mass confusion and
mistakes. Thank you for your cooperation. We are in the process of restructuring
how we collect dues. Next year, all dues will be due in MAY! It is easier for
our treasurer to keep up with. Exception: If someone should join in April of
this year, it will be considered dues for next year. I hope you will understand
how hard it is to keep up with dues when it is an ongoing thing all year.
