February Newsletter

My Fair Hat Ladies,   It was so good to see everyone again and the weather has been unbelievable!  And that is in a good way of course.  It almost makes one think that it is spring time.  Our Meet & Eat at The Genetti was fabulous and some of us enjoyed Tea @ The Kalico Kafe.  As always looking smashingly in our hats.

FEBRUARY MEET & EAT

The February 11th Meet & Eat will be a Buffet at The Genetti Hotel.  $10 (all inclusive).  Pay at the door and get a ticket as usual.  Reservations must be in by Wednesday, February 8th by calling me @ 570-546-2012 or email @ puttinonthehatz@aol.com.  I remind you that if we do not have enough ladies, they will give us a limited menu to order from.

You will be absolutely enthralled with Connie Steinbacher who will present FASCINATORS (by Cindy Koons) and HAT PLACEMENT.  If you think you can’t wear certain styles of hats, this program is for you.  Connie will show you how hats should be worn and what to do with Fascinators. MARCH CHARLESTON TRIP:  I originally cancelled this trip, but if there are ladies who would like to go, Archie Burkel, Top Hat, would love to entertain you.  We can make it hatpen!  There will be NO MEETING IN MARCH.

HOT HAT HATPENINGS

HATPY VALENTINE’S DAY!  THIS IS A GREAT TIME TO GIVE SOMEONE WHO IS LONESOME OR DOESN’T HAVE A SWEETHEART A LITTLE BOX OF CANDY OR A ROSE OR JUST SPEND SOME TIME WITH THEM.  SAVE THESE DATES!

APRIL 8th: This is our ANNUAL HAT AUCTION @ Orlando’s.  Please start getting those hats out that you want to donate for auction.  All proceeds go to The American Cancer Society in memory of Suzanne Taggart and toward our Hat Lady Monetary Award for a High School Senior.

HAT LADY MONETARY AWARD:  The letters to all the area schools have been sent out long ago and we have already received some applications.  If you know a high school senior girl that might be interested, please tell her to check with her guidance counselor for the details.  We will be choosing the recipient in May.

My invitation to drop by my house is always open.  Just make sure that you give me a call, as I would not want to miss your visit.  I have received visits from some of you and it has been great.  I will put the tea kettle on and we can have a lovely chat.

Have a great Valentine’s Day with your favorite Honey, and honor George, Abe & Martin by shopping for a new hat!  We have some exciting events coming up in the near future.  We will probably have lunch in Wellsboro in May with Christine A. Moore and once again have the chance to see what is new for spring at The Blue Thistle.

MAY:  ANNUAL DUES ($20) ARE DUE.  NEW ENVELOPES FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH SNAIL MAIL.

June 11th:  PROMENADE.  Please put this on your calendar and plan to attend.  This is the one event that ALL HAT LADIES should be at.  We have something planned for afterwards and will let you know the details later.

FYI:  Cell phone companies are now beginning to sell their phone numbers to telemarketers, and you will be charged for the call. To block telemarketers from calling your cell phone number, call 888-382-1222 from your cell phone.

Keep wearing your hats.  Put on that Valentine’s Day Hat and come to The Meet and Eat!  See you on February 11th.

HATFULLY & LOVINGLY,

  ANNE
