My Fair Hat Ladies,
What a great time we had at the Genetti in January. 37 beautiful Hat Ladies donned their hats and came out in 1 degree temperatures to have lunch and enjoy Deb Parson's wonderful presentation on lamp working. Her jewelry was beautiful and Barb Rider was the lucky lady to win the adorable hat pin. Thanks to all of you who brought donations for our Souper Bowl. We certainly could feel for the homeless on such a bitter cold day.

HOT HATPENINGS FOR
PUTTIN ON THE HATZ:
Check the Sun-Gazette. Every week they have a list of everything that is going
on in our community. The more you are seen in your hat, the more ladies you will
attract to our group because they will be pea green with envy when they see how
mahvelous you look.
UNDER THE HAT:
I was in TJ Maxx's and saw Hat Lady Lil Van Campen. I overheard some ladies who
were giving her the eye comment about how lovely she looked and how a hat just
makes a woman look stunning.
I went to Kaufmann's after the last meeting. I had been in there the week before
wearing the same outfit without the hat and talked to the very same sales lady.
Only this time, I was wearing my hat. She asked me if I was always that put
together. She must have told me three times or more how nice I looked and how
wonderfully put together I was. It had to have been the hat because the week
before in exactly the same outfit minus the hat and she didn't notice me at all.
I met at lady who told me all about her lucky hat that belonged to her
granddaughter when she lost her hair undergoing chemo therapy for leukemia. The
girl is doing great and let her grandmother borrow her hat.
A TOSS OF THE HAT GOES OUT TO:
CINDY CRADDOCK & NANCY JACOBS who gathered up all the can goods, etc. that we
brought for the homeless and took them to St. Anthony's. It was especially cold,
the can goods were heavy and required several trips to the car, but their hearts
were warm and it didn't seem to bother them. Thanks to both of you.
HATS OFF TO NEW MEMBERS: We are so hatpy that JEANNE BAKER & LAURIE REBER decided to join our group. Make sure that you find these lovely Hat Ladies at the next meeting and make them feel welcome. I think that at one of our meetings, we should have a fruit basket turnover and have everyone change seats so that we can get to know others in our group. What do you think? Place cards? Let me know your thoughts.
SPEAKER CIRCUIT: I am officially on the speaker circuit. Please let your church, organizations, etc. know that I am available to talk about The Hat Ladies. I recently spoke to the ladies of Mater Dolorosa Catholic Church and we had a fun filled afternoon. Most came wearing their hats that were filled with stories. Any donations from speaking engagements will be made to The Hat Lady scholarship fund. It's the year of the hat, time to get our message out!
My husband and I will be basking in the
South Carolina sun when you get this. If you have any concerns or stories to
tell, please e-mail me or call my daughter, Cindy Craddock @ 570-323-9777. I
will miss all of you. Barb Schmouder has such a fabulous program in store for
you. You don't want to miss it. Take plenty of pictures and e-mail them to me so
that we can get them on our web site. Happy Valentine's Day! You are all
sweethearts! See you all in April.
Hatfully,
