Subject: The Hat Ladies December 2003 Newsletter

My Fair Hat Ladies, December's Meet & Eat will be held on Saturday, December 13, 2003 @ 1200 noon @ The Genetti Hotel. Reservations must be made by Monday, December 8, 2003 by e-mailing puttinonthehatz@aol.com. or you made telephone Anne Knox @570-546-2012.  It will be a buffet and the cost is $9.65 (which includes tax & gratuity).

PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU MAKE A RESERVATION OR A RESERVATION FOR A GUEST AND YOU OR YOUR GUEST DO NOT SHOW UP, YOU WILL BE BILLED.

Don't forget to bring a decorated shoe box that contains some type of hat embellishment ($5.00 limit. It can be old or new). Make sure that the lid can be removed without unwrapping the box. We have something fun in mind to do. It will be a holly, jolly hatbox time.

NOVEMBER MEETING: HATS OFF!! I have received rave reviews about the good time everyone had at Valley View. I hear the food, the service and most of all the residents were wonderful. You brought a lot of joy to a lot of people. Cudos to Louise Eakin & the Staff of Valley View who planned and served the luncheon, Cindy Craddock, Jean Steinbacher, Barb Weaver, and Jane Miller for all of their help.

IN THE HATBOX:

CHARLESTON TRIP: I am home from a wonderful time in Charleston and can't wait for you all to see my home town. We have so many things planned for the trip. Please contact Barb Weaver if you even have an inkling that you might go. You need to have your reservations for the hotel made pronto. (The Meeting Street Inn 1-800-842-8022. Let them know that you are with The Hat Ladies of Lycoming County in order to get the special rate). Charleston is a huge tourist town and the rooms will go fast. Reservations must be made by January 4th. Please call Barb for all of the details. NEW MEMBERS: We are hatpy to have another new member, Dottie Schmid. Make sure you tip your Hat to Dottie at the next meeting.

December 25: Celebration of the Birth of our Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.
Have a wonderful Christmas with family & good friends, but remember those who are less fortunate than yourself. Put your Hat on and lend a helping hand.

UNDER THE HAT:
JANUARY MEETING: @ HOSS'S. OUR GUEST WILL BE DEB PARSONS, LAMP WORKER. SHE MAKES THE MOST WONDERFUL JEWELRY FROM GLASS. YOU DON'T WANT TO MISS HER. We will also have a SOUPER BOWL. Everyone will be asked to bring a can of soup for the homeless or needy.
FEBRUARY MEETING: BARB SCHMOUDER WILL BE THE GUEST SPEAKER
MARCH: NO MEETING. TAKE TIME OUT TO GET OUR SPRING HATS OUT OF THE BOXES.

HAT CHAT: While I was in Charleston, I attended the Hat Ladies of Charleston's Meet & Eat, in fact, I was their guest speaker. At my table were three of my best high school girlfriends, and my sister-in-love, Faye. Needless to say, I raved about all of you and how we have grown and continue to grow. There are so many ways for us to use our talents to help others and if you have a special project please let me know. We will start a monetary scholarship for a high school girl that meet the requirements of looking good and doing good.
This is a short but sweet newsletter. I really missed all of you. You are the greatest Hat Ladies in the world. See you in December @ The Genetti with your decorated shoe box that has a lid that can be lifted off.
