My Fair Hat Ladies,

What a great time 43 HATPY HAT LADIES had in Eagles Mere.  The patrons there loved all of you gorgeous ladies in your hats & there were many, mahvelous compliments.
They even took pictures for the Club to use. The photographer was so excited she forgot how to use her camera. One gentleman suggested that we make all the ladies at the Club wear hats (including the waitresses).  He could not get over how fabulous you all looked.
Please check out our website, www.hatladieslycoming.org for pictures.
Take me out to the ball game!  It is about time for the Little League World's Series to begin!  Three strikes and you are out if you don't join us for the next luncheon.  We are downtown Williamsport so there are no excuses! It will definitely be a home run. We miss all of you who have been on vacation or working or whatever that has kept you away.  I know that some of you were shopping for new hats on your trips & are just dying to show them off.

AUGUST 14TH Meet & Eat:  1200 noon @ Jeremiah's (Bullfrog Brewery's upstairs room)located @ 229 W 4th Street.(across from the Community Arts Theater) When you enter through the front door, there are about 20 stairs on the left.  Sorry there is no elevator, but the stairs are not steep and you can take your time.  Lunch will be grilled sandwiches, (turkey club and portabella mushroom which is their specialty), make your own chef's salad, brownie & tea, coffee, soda of your choice.  Cost is $12.00 (tax & gratuity included).  Please have your money ready when you check in.  Correct change please.  Bring your pocket book (paper back) that you exchanged last month and exchange it for another one.  "GETTING TO KNOW YOU, GETTING TO KNOW ALL ABOUT YOU":  With our continuing membership, it is hard to get to know everyone so we will use this meeting to get to know each other better. Do you have an unusual hobby, job, or a cute hat story that you want to share with your Hat friends? We just want to know something about you that we can remember you by.  So be prepared, you might not sit with who you come with.  It will be a day to make new friends & to know more about old friends. Reservations:  must be made by Tuesday, August 10th. Please remember that you may make reservations by email or telephone, but cancellations should be done by telephoning me @ 570-546-2012.  If I do not respond within 24 hrs of your sending email, please resubmit.  Thank you. Reminder:  If we get charged for your lunch & you did not cancel, if we have to pay, we will pass the bill on to you.
PARKING:  You may park at any metered spot along the street. (Do not feed the meter, it is free on Saturdays.)  If you arrive close to noon, you may park in the Woodlands Bank Lot immediately before you get to The BULLFROG.

A TIP OF THE HAT TO:
JESSICA LUPOLE.  What a wonderful young lady that won our Monetary Award.  And what a coincidence & surprise to the selection committee that she just hatpened to be the niece of Hat Ladies, Barb Rider and Esther Morris & that her mother, Donna Lupole, was a colleague of mine @ Williamsport Hospital.  What a small world.  Jessica has given many hours of her time volunteering @ Williamsport Hospital, is a good student, active in her church & community and is noted for her charm & personality.  She will attend Lock Haven University in the fall and pursue a degree in education.  We wish her the best and hope that she will keep in touch with us.
PAULINE MONTGOMERY for making arrangements with The Eagles Mere Country Club for a lovely luncheon.  Hats Off: Deb Muthler & Barb Weaver who helped me select the winner of the Hat Ladies Monetary Award.
New Members
Linda Goldman, Andrea Miller, Astrida Miller and Jeanette Steumple. Please make them feel welcome.
UNDER THE HAT:
$50 Hatpy dollars were collected to sponsor 15 children who are reading books for Heifer International to be able to buy a llama for a child in Peru to help stamp out world hunger.  The kids were thrilled with the donation and each child will read four books to earn the money.  Many thanks for being so hatpy & donating so many dollars.

REMINDER:  Since I have received many calls about where to pay dues, you may send the check made out to The Hat Ladies to me @ 106 Sprout Rd, Muncy, Pa. 17756.  If you do not have email, you must submit 12 self addressed stamped business envelopes.

ATTENTION:  I am looking for ladies that have vintage hats or beautiful hats or hats with a history and would like to be in a fashion show for a program I am presenting on November 20th.  If you have the clothes from that period to wear with them, then that would be even better.  It is about the history of hats & will be given for Victorian Christmas presented by the Preservation Society of Williamsport.  Please call me @ 546-2012 if you would like to participate.  Even if you have fancy new hats, and would like to be part of the show, let me know.  Tickets for the luncheon will be $35.  Please meet with me immediately after the August Meet & Eat if you are interested.
