My Fair Hat Ladies, Spring is here and time for us to put away those winter bonnets and adorn our beautiful Easter bonnets.  This weather has been unbelievable!

I have heard the geese fly over and the forthysia is in bloom. 

APRIL MEET & EAT

The April Meet & Eat will be on Saturday, April 8th @ Orlando’s Resturante on Main St in Muncy.  The menu is Orlie’s famous Lasagna (luncheon size) with a tossed salad, bread, coffee or tea and cheesecake for dessert.  It is $13

(all inclusive).  Please bring the correct change and

pay me at the door. Reservations must be in by Wednesday, April 5th by calling me @ 546-2012 or email me @

puttinonthehatz@aol.com.  This is our annual Hat Auction in memory of Suzanne Taggart.  All proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society to buy a wig or hat for a cancer survivor.  Look through your gently used hats and bring some to donate to the cause.  We have some great hats that were given to Jeannette Steumpfle specifically for this affair.  Hope to see all of you there!!!!!

HOT HAT HATPENINGS

May 13th Meet & Eat will be in Wellsboro with designer, Christine A Moore, who will present her spring collection.  You don’t want to miss this one.

May 15th:  Hat Ladies Night @ Hoss’s.  Anyone that has a ticket and goes to eat @ Hoss’s that evening from 4 – 8pm, Hoss’s will donate 20% of the check to our Hat Ladies Monetary Award.  All we have to do is to get our friends and relatives to show up.  Please get some tickets from Anne at the next Meet & Eat.

April 21st:  The Hat Ladies will be guests of Ken Sawyer on WRAK.  Make sure you listen to the radio that morning. 

June 11th:  PROMENADE.  Please put this on your calendar and plan to attend.  This is the one event that ALL HAT LADIES should be at.  We have something planned for afterwards and will let you know the details later. 

HAT LADY MONETARY AWARD:  The letters to all the area schools have been sent out long ago and we have already received some applications.  If you know a high school senior girl that might be interested, please tell her to check with her guidance counselor for the details.  We will be choosing the recipient in May.

My invitation to drop by my house is always open.  Just make sure that you give me a call, as I would not want to miss your visit.  I have received visits from some of you and it has been great.  I will put the tea kettle on and we can have a lovely chat.

MAY:  ANNUAL DUES ($20) ARE DUE.  NEW ENVELOPES FOR THOSE OF YOU WITH SNAIL MAIL.  Dues should be in a sealed envelope with your name on it.  For snail mailers, self addressed, stamped envelopes should be of the self seal type.

Please note, if you want a treasurer’s report, please let Louise Eakin know and she will be happy to oblige.  We have the books audited each year by a independent CPA. 

HAT OFF TO:

Ellie Snauffer who is serving as secretary for The Divine Providence Hospital Auxillary. Way to go!

The 12 ladies who attended Sun Home Health & Hospice Charity event, Fashions With Fondue & Frolic.  Modeling hats were:  Deb Thomas, Cindy Craddock, Bev Ellis, Jean Steinbacher, Mary Tennant & Birgit Schultz.  We also took home a lot of door prizes.  Jeanne Baker won the big $500 basket.  Other winners were: Loretta Floyd, Jeannette Steumpfle, Anne Knox, Deb Thomas. 

AN OPEN INVITATION:

and come to The Meet and Eat!  See you on April 8th

We are coming upon the third anniversary of The Hat Ladies.  It hardly seems possible.  Our hats are more fabulous than ever and we are known all over Lycoming County as the elegant Hat Ladies that always have a hand out to help the community.    I hope you will invite your friends to join us or anyone that you think likes to wear hats, have a good time, meet wonderful ladies and do good for her community.  Have a Hatpy Easter!
